Darkness =/

"Darkness"

i flipped the light switch off
and the darkness eats away the light
i retrieve to the corner of my room
where i use my heart for sight
darkness is all i can see
and emptiness is all i feel
i take in a breath of nothingness
just to see how loneliness can feel
i reach out to the endless dark
only to grasp for what's not there
feeling for someone that won't feel back
filled this darkness with despair
i'm drowned in my emotions
but i'm swimming through my hope
the darkness provides a comfort
where my memories can elope
eventually the light's back on
and illuminates all around
but no matter how bright it shines
my heart just can't be found

"Down"

life's been really hard on me
and love has brought me down
I am tortured and left hopeless
and happiness cant be found
i sit alone and keep wondering
as i waste away my time
how can i be alone forever
and still survive this life of mine
no one wants to be incomplete
and i am only one half of a whole
when can i find my other part
to live affection others know
people in life hurt
but i know i hurt way more
i don't think i can be the same
and function like i did before
how can i get back up
when love has brought me down
i was not just broken
but shattered all around

Times Like These

"Times Like These"
we look towards our future
expecting it better than right now
as we mature from past to present
we will try to stay in touch somehow
we live through each moment once
with no way of repeating it again
when we branch off different ways
these memories become our friend
throughout the future we'll encounter
many times that will appease
but cherish the moment now
because there can never be times like these

"Lost You In a Memory"
lost u in a memory
but found u in a dream
all my hope was gone
and life became extreme
memories became distant
so gradually they fade
but once i closed my eyes
i was no longer afraid
i found a way to remember
all things linked to you
so now i just close my eyes
and hope a dream comes through
although i may seem dormant
my mind is wide awake
recapturing all the memories
that were once at stake
i thought you were gone forever
and that was what it seemed
although i lost you in a memory
but i found you when i dreamed

Sleeping is the resting of the body... and the awakening of the mind...

live like there's no tomorrow... and love like there's only today...
